Chris began his career in 1992 with a small newspaper in Orange Park, Florida. Within a year he took a position as an account executive with the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville where he later became a retail sales manager overseeing two bureaus. In 1999, Gannett recruited him to be the Retail Advertising Manager in Salem, OR. From there he went on to become the Advertising Director in Bellingham, Washington, another Gannett property. Chris’s approach to growing these key classified segments, in particular Automotive and Real Estate, became the seed that a team of Pacific Group advertising, marketing, and human resources professionals developed into a new sales training program. The goals of the Pacific Newspaper Group Market Share Development Program were threefold: grow revenue, increase market share, and provide participants with deeper technical skills, leadership skills, and enhanced self-development. The program focused on analyzing market share for both his clients and his newspapers and how to sell based on client needs and market research. He served as Director of Sales at FLORIDA TODAY (Brevard) and the Arizona Republic. In 2015 he became the West Group Auto Director overseeing 43 markets from Cincinnati to Salem OR. Today Chris heads up client strategy for the LocaliQ Automotive (part of the Gannett Company). He and his team utilize key data insights to help auto dealers across the country grow market share and efficiently drive more business. Chris has worked with hundreds of dealerships across the US, developing new programs that help drive market share growth utilizing data and analytics. Chris has been dedicated to the automotive space since 2001.
